Cold Foil
Inline Cold Foil is finally here
Cold Foil is another fast growing technology that allows printers to apply foil onto a substrates inline on a sheet-fed and web printing press.
Inline Cold Foil units can mount anywhere on a printing press but usually at the beginning so that its the first process performed on your printing press.
The process utilizes standard printing plates to apply UV adhesive. The UV adhesive acts just like a UV ink that is applied to a standard lithographic printing plate onto the substrate.
After the UV adhesive is applied to the substrates, the substrate travels to the next station at which it comes in contact with the Cold Foil. The cold foil is transfered onto the substrate by adhering to the UV adhesive at the nip point of the press. It is then dried by a UV source. The waste is rewound onto a rewind roller.
Once the cold foil is dried, UV inks can be appied on top of the cold foil creating amazing new effects. The cold foil system is performed at print speed and in litho register.

Cold Foil has gone through tremedious improvement in the last few years. The quality of the foil and adhesives used today allow for this process to be performed inline to create amazing results.
Manufactored in the USA. We manufacture all parts in house and assemble right here at our factory. Units are available for all sheet-fed and web printers.
