About Heated Chases
Chase Flatness We invest a lot of time and money to make sure our chases are the flattest, strongest and best made in the market.
Heat Zones Chases are divided into heating zones. Each zone consists of a heating element and a thermocouple. Multiple zones ensure better control of the heat.
Each chase size can have a different amount of zone. Most systems are designed to hold 1 or 2 degrees of set point temperature.
Temperature Controllers Each zone requires an external temperature controller. All the leads that come out of the heated chase will connect to the temperature controller.
We also sell temperature control units.
Three ways to add heat to a press
Bed Heaters
Bed Heaters are used when the press is designed for hot embossing or foil stamping. The heater is located behind the honeycomb. This type of heater is used on platen, clamshell and cylinder presses.
Honeycomb Heaters
Honeycomb Heaters are used when the press was originally designed for a die cutting press and the customer would like to do hot embossing or foil stamping. When the press operator removes the honeycomb heater from the press, he disconnects the power leads on the platen presses. This is usually done automatically with special connectors. On clamshell and cylinder presses the operator generally disconnects the power with twist lock connections. The honeycomb heater uses toggle hooks to easily mount the die.
Bunter Heaters
Bunter Heaters are used on clamshell and cylinder presses when the press was not designed to do hot embossing and foil stamping. Our removable front plate allows the power connection to stay intact. The press operator simply removes the 3/16 (5mm) front plate to lock the dies.
